Qatar strongly condemns Iranian attacks on several Arab countries, reaffirms Palestinian cause as priority

Qatar has strongly condemned recent attacks by the Houthi group against civilian and economic infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, as well as Iran's aggression against several Arab states. Ambassador Jassim Yacoub Al Hammadi, speaking at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, emphasized Qatar's full solidarity with the affected nations and its rejection of any plans to force the displacement of Palestinians.

He stressed Qatar's support for any legitimate measures taken by the affected countries to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ambassador also recalled Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemned Iran's attacks on Arab states, calling for Iran to cease any acts or threats that violate international law and respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to resolving regional tensions through dialogue and negotiations, warning that continued aggression could undermine efforts for regional security and stability. The ambassador highlighted the disproportionate impact of Iran's attacks on global energy, trade, and maritime navigation, and the broader implications for international peace and security.

Regarding the Palestinian cause, Ambassador Al Hammadi underscored that it should not be overshadowed by the Arabian Gulf crisis, emphasizing Israel's responsibility for violating international law and the Palestinian right to self-determination. He called for the implementation of the two-state solution, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
