Police raid criminal hideout in A’Ibom, arrest two suspected drug dealers

Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a suspected vehicle theft kingpin, Mosuru Issa, 28, and recovered a stolen Toyota Camry. On Friday morning, around 7:30 a.m., the suspects were stopped during a search operation along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The three occupants of the wine-colored Camry abandoned the vehicle and fled when it was flagged down by the police.

According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Office, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the officers pursued the fugitives, arrested Issa, and recovered the vehicle. Preliminary investigations indicate that the car was stolen on September 7, 2026, from a location in Ojo, Lagos State. The Police Public Relations Officer stated that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle's owner and apprehend the fleeing accomplices.

The case has been forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation. Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the officers for their vigilance and emphasized the police command's dedication to proactive policing to combat vehicle theft and highway crime. The police urged residents to report suspicious activities via their toll-free line and advised vehicle owners to utilize anti-theft devices when parking in public areas.
