Negri coach admits JDT are on another level after defeat

Johor Baru witnessed a 3-0 Super League defeat by Johor Darul Ta zim (JDT) for Negri Sembilan, as their coach Daniel Gimenez admitted that his team were no match for JDT. The Negri coach stated that JDT players possess Asian competition experience, whereas his squad only played domestically, giving JDT players an edge. Gimenez confirmed that JDT are on a different level, mentioning their quality and asserting that his team was merely a Super League team.

Despite knowing the disparity, Gimenez encouraged his players, saying they fought hard but ultimately fell short against the superior Southern Tigers. The match saw Shahab Zahedi open the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by Bergson da Silva's goal in the 31st minute for JDT. Substitute Marcos Guilherme sealed the win with a third goal in the 66th minute.

Gimenez will utilize the upcoming month-long break to enhance his team's performance. Injured players Luqman Hakim Shamsuddin, Mio Tsuneyasu, Takumi Sasaki, and Ryaan Sanizal are expected to return ahead of their upcoming match against Sabah on October 17. Currently, unbeaten JDT leads the Super League standings with 15 points from five matches, while Negri Sembilan sits in seventh place with four points.
