Nationals score 3 in the 8th, rally for a 4-3 win over the Angels to snap their 7-game skid

Washington's Jorbit Vivas drove in the tying run with a two-run double in the eighth inning, lifting the team to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels and ending a seven-game losing streak on Friday night. After the Angels led 2-1, pinch-hitter Andrew Pinckney tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Clayton Beeter (6-5) secured the win in relief, while Erik Tolman recorded his second save of the game in the ninth.

Mike Trout, who had gone 27 games without a homer, hit his first homer of the season for the Angels in the first inning, putting them up 1-0. After a pair of walks in the fourth, James Wood tied the game with a two-out single. The Angels' Cade Cavalli allowed two runs, three hits, and two walks over six-plus innings, striking out nine.

Washington came back in the eighth, starting with a walk and a single, and ultimately scored the tying run when Yohandy Morales grounded to short, with Zach Neto throwing home for the force, bringing home Pinckney for the tie.
