Kienholz leads as No. 24 Louisville routs Villanova 59-13 for first victory

Lincoln Kienholz spearheaded Louisville's dominant 59-13 victory over Villanova on Friday night, marking their first win of the season. The Ohio State transfer quarterback completed 16 of 21 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while also adding two more scores. Kienholz's performance was instrumental in Louisville's 45-13 halftime lead.

The Cardinals outgained Villanova 635-253, holding the Wildcats to just 126 points in the second quarter. Louisville's Lawwayne McCoy contributed 102 receiving yards, including a crucial 61-yard touchdown catch from Kienholz. Pat McQuaide's 166 passing yards and touchdown for the Wildcats were insufficient as Louisville's mistakes, including a defensive breakdown leading to a 65-yard touchdown pass, hampered their chances.

Despite their early struggles, Villanova, ranked No. 18 in the Football Championship Subdivision coaches’ poll, ultimately fell short against Louisville's speed and size.
