Julian Lewis becomes 1st Colorado quarterback with 4 TD passes in an opening half versus Weber State

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — No. 25 Virginia defeated Norfolk State 59-3 on Friday night, as quarterback Beau Pribula completed three first-quarter touchdown passes. Virginia's defense, led by reserves Eli Holstein and Cole Geer, helped secure the win with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown by linebacker Justin Rowe in the fourth quarter.

The Cavaliers, currently ranked #25, showed offensive improvement after their run-heavy opener against N.C. State. Quarterback Pribula finished the game 12 of 14 for 162 yards before handing off to backups Eli Holstein and Cole Geer. Holstein threw for two scores.

Norfolk State, now coached by former Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick, struggled offensively with just 94 yards passing in their loss to Old Dominion. Quarterbacks Da’Shawn Martin, Ty’Liric Coleman, and Hayden Rollison contributed with touchdown catches.

Virginia's defense, particularly safety Brandyn Hillman, played a crucial role in the victory by picking off two passes in the first quarter, leading to the opening touchdowns. The Cavaliers will face West Virginia in their next game on Sept. 19 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
