iQOO 16 Design Revealed With New Holographic Finish

iQOO, a performance-focused sub-brand of vivo, is set to introduce its latest flagship smartphone in China. Prior to the official announcement, the company has begun sharing glimpses of the upcoming device on Weibo. The teaser image showcases the iQOO 16 with a square camera module at the top left corner, resembling a spacecraft porthole.

Inside, the three lenses are interconnected, resembling a navigation marker. The camera module is adorned with a holographic rear panel, created through an industry-first laser holographic imaging technology. This unique colourway, named "Chasing Light," displays a three-dimensional light effect that changes hues as the phone is viewed from different angles.

While details about the phone remain scarce, rumors suggest it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, a 2nm processor with a 2+3+3 CPU cluster capable of reaching 5.01GHz, and an Adreno 850 GPU. The handset will likely feature a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a dedicated Q4 gaming chip.

The iQOO 16 is speculated to house an 8,400mAh battery and may sport IP68 and IP69 ratings. The device is expected to come equipped with a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Other rumored features include up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and an IP68/69 rating. Although no official launch date has been announced, iQOO has confirmed the device's debut in China at the end of the month; however, there is no confirmation regarding a global release at this time.
