'I cried every day': RESCENE's Minami reveals she lost 18 kg for debut

Rescene member Minami has disclosed that she shed 18 kilograms (40 pounds) prior to her K-pop debut, sharing the emotional hardships she endured while dieting. On Friday, a video titled "War With Weight: The Truth About 20 kg" was posted to fellow Rescene member Woni's YouTube channel, which included contributions from Woni, Minami and Liv discussing their weight changes before joining the group.

The trio addressed a previous claim that Minami's weight had shifted by over 20 kilograms while preparing for the group's debut. Minami clarified that she had actually lost 18 kilograms. Liv revealed she had lost 13 kilograms. The members admitted they often faced comments about dieting as they prepared to debut, with Minami recalling a particularly distressing experience during a clothing fitting.

She explained that a pair of jeans would not rise above her hips, causing her embarrassment. Minami stated she forced the pants up and managed to put them on, but felt awful afterward, ending up in her car and crying alone. The incident was so impactful that filming had to be halted.
