Honor to Launch Yet Another Phone With The Biggest Battery Ever

Honor is set to unveil its Magic9 series on September 28, with a leak suggesting three models could be released: the Magic9, Magic9 Pro Max, and the highly anticipated Magic9 Super Edition. The latter is rumored to boast an unprecedented 11,000 mAh battery, which would rival the Honor X80 Pro Max for the title of the biggest battery in mainstream phones.

The design of the upcoming Magic9 series has been revealed, but specific specifications remain unofficial. According to a Weibo tipster, all three models will share a rear camera design showcased in Honor's official renders. The Magic9 Super Edition is expected to feature a 6.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a 200MP main camera, and a 12MP and 50MP sensor.

Unlike other models, the camera system will not bear ARRI branding. Its standout feature is likely to be the colossal 11,000mAh battery, coupled with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a built-in cooling fan, and a fiberglass body.

The standard Magic9 is rumored to have a smaller 6.37-inch display and an 8,000mAh battery. It will feature two 200MP rear cameras, developed in partnership with ARRI, and a single 3D camera for selfies and facial recognition. Using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Magic9 is expected to sit at the lower end of the lineup.

The Magic9 Pro Max is positioned as the top model in the conventional lineup. With a 6.8-inch display, metal body, and an 8,800mAh battery, it is tipped to offer dual 200MP rear cameras and a 1:1 camera sensor alongside a 3D Time-of-Flight sensor. The biggest performance upgrade could come from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chipset, which will replace the Gen 5 chip in the other two models.
