Hao-Yu Lee doubles and triples in 7-run 8th as Tigers rally past Rockies 11-7

Detroit Tigers' Hao-Yu Lee contributed significantly to the team's 11-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday, as he doubled and tripled in a critical seven-run eighth inning. This performance helped the Tigers extend their winning streak to three games and dealt a blow to Colorado's road winless run.

Trailing 7-4 before the eighth, Lee and Gleyber Torres both started the inning with doubles off Jaden Hill, followed by an RBI single from Riley Greene. Eduardo Valencia's single loaded the bases, with Max Clark walking to set up the Tigers' lead.

Jordan Romano entered the game, walking the first two batters, Spencer Torkelson and Ben Malgeri, to load the bases again. Lee then delivered the decisive blow with a two-run triple that plated the game-winning run.

Beau Briske pitched the final five innings before Kenley Jansen completed the ninth. The Tigers' bullpen struggled, stranding 12 runners over the first seven innings. Despite this, Detroit managed to secure the win.

Colorado's Hunter Goodman hit a home run in the third inning, while Kevin McGonigle and Beau Briske each drove in a run in the seventh. The Rockies took a 4-2 lead on Adael Amador’s double in the fourth, but Lee's RBI double in the bottom half of the inning brought the score to within one run. Colt Keith then tied the game with a single.
