Google stole open source code without crediting the authors (Artemis/Minitap)

The team noticed identical code in various aspects such as connecting to Android devices, agent instructions, and messaging examples. They found that Artemis removed the contributors' names from the earlier versions, replacing them with an unidentified author.

Although Artemis incorporated parts of mobile-use, the README did not credit the original work. The team pointed out that adhering to open-source practices involved preserving copyright and attribution notices, providing relevant attribution, and maintaining transparency about shared components. They emphasized that this experience discouraged open-source contributions due to the potential lack of recognition when their work was republished by larger entities.
