GCU Lahore, University of Regina Sign Student Exchange Agreement

Government College University (GCU) Lahore and the University of Regina (UoR) in Canada have entered into an agreement to expand their academic collaboration, engage in joint research projects, and facilitate student mobility. The signing ceremony took place at GCU's main campus on Friday, with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, GCU's Vice Chancellor, and Haroon Chaudhry, UoR's Associate Vice President for International Affairs, signing the documents.

As part of this Student Exchange Programme Agreement (SEPA), both universities will offer opportunities for up to three undergraduate students from each institution to study abroad each academic year. GCU students must have completed at least two years of study before applying, while UoR students must have completed 30 credit hours.

The partnership extends to research opportunities through Mitacs, a prominent Canadian research organization. Students who are eligible can apply for the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship, a 12-week paid program that provides hands-on research experience in areas such as technology, engineering, and social sciences.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, during the meeting, provided the Canadian delegation with detailed information about GCU's research programs and the university's commitment to student development. He emphasized that GCU not only focuses on academics but also on skills development, character building, and overall personal growth through co-curricular activities.
