Gachagua to Ruto: We have an agenda but removing you in 2027 is our priority

Nairobi, Kenya - In an interview with Kenyans in Portland, Oregon, Rigathi Gachagua, the leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party, has vowed to remove President William Ruto from power in the 2027 General Election. Gachagua's party has plans, but their top priority is to remove Ruto, according to the DCP leader.

While criticizing the incumbent government, Gachagua promised to reinstate what he considers the dignity of workers' paychecks. One of his party's initiatives would be to eliminate the housing levy, arguing that the government has no role in building houses for individuals. Instead, he believes the private sector should be responsible for housing.

Additionally, Gachagua intends to streamline business licensing, fight corruption, and clear government pending bills within a year. On social issues, his party plans to establish a department to combat drug and substance abuse, illicit alcohol, addiction, and rehabilitation, while increasing spending on mental health.
