Frustrated Liverpool held as Fulham pick up first point

Fulham secured their first Premier League point of the season with a goalless draw against Liverpool. The match came just 72 hours after Liverpool's Champions League win over Atletico Madrid. Fulham's manager, Alvaro Arbeloa, was under pressure as his team had lost their first three league games since he took charge in the summer. However, Fulham put on a solid away performance and could have secured all three points had they been more clinical in front of goal.

Arbeloa made several substitutions, bringing in Kostas Tsimikas, Ryan Gravenberch, and Victor Munoz in place of Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Rio Ngumoha. He also made two changes, with Austrian defender David Affengruber replacing Joachim Andersen and Sander Berge stepping in for Cesar Palacios.

Liverpool dominated the first half, but their efforts were not enough to break through Fulham's defense. Josh King's shot from inside the box was saved by Alisson, and Antonee Robinson headed wide. Munoz's header was kept out by a strong save from Bernd Leno, while a volley from Bradley Barcola was deflected behind by Timothy Castagne for a corner.

In the second half, Fulham made more substitutions, including bringing on Kerkez, Gravenberch, and Munoz. Despite Alexander Isak creating an opportunity, his effort was saved by Leno, and Dominik Szoboszlai's powerful strike was also kept out by the Fulham keeper. In the 72nd minute, Isak headed wide from an injury-time corner, but Fulham held on for a valuable point in their Premier League campaign.
