Explore US higher education at the free EducationUSA University Fair 2026

The United States-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, will host the 2026 EducationUSA University Fair across three cities: Colombo, Kurunegala, and Kandy, from September 14-18. This free event aims to connect Sri Lankan students with representatives from eleven prestigious U.S. colleges and universities.

Attendees will gain insights into admissions processes, scholarships, and academic offerings, with a focus on high-demand fields like artificial intelligence, computer science, cybersecurity, and biotechnology. EducationUSA, the U.S. government's official source on higher education, will offer valuable advice and resources to students, families, parents, educators, and school administrators.

Fulbright scholarships and fellowships for Sri Lankan citizens will also be discussed. US Ambassador Eric Meyer emphasized the U.S. commitment to higher education and technology innovation. Dr. Patrick McNamara, Fulbright Commission's Executive Director, highlighted the importance of these fairs in fostering educational connections between the two nations.

The participating U.S. institutions represent a diverse range of locations and disciplines. The fair will take place in Colombo on September 14 at the Grand Sapphire Ballroom, Kurunegala on September 16 at Royal International School, and in Kandy on September 17 at Kandy City Centre's Banquet Hall.
