Doha Bank among first in Qatar to join AFAQ Payments System

Doha Bank has become one of the first commercial banks in Qatar to join the AFAQ Payments System, a secure and reliable platform that enables customers to execute financial transfers in local currencies across GCC countries through the bank's mobile banking app. This move comes as Doha Bank aims to enhance its digital infrastructure and expand the range of services offered to its customers, aligning with its strategy of keeping up with industry developments.

Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal al-Thani, CEO of Doha Bank Group, expressed the bank's enthusiasm about joining AFAQ, highlighting the system's benefits such as secure, instant fund transfers using cutting-edge electronic payment technologies and operating in compliance with stringent regulatory and technical standards.

AFAQ, operated by the Gulf Payments Company owned by the GCC central banks, links the payment systems of the GCC countries, facilitating instant financial transfers in local currencies in a secure and stable environment.
