China just launched a $19,170 electric vehicle

In a market where affordability often stems from permission issues, the Chinese automaker Geely made waves on September 10th by launching its Galaxy TT electric sedan in China at a limited-time starting price of 129,900 yuan, or roughly $19,170. This entry-level trim of the Galaxy TT sedan boasts a 63.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a range of 640 km (about 398 miles) on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle.

The vehicle is equipped with an 800-volt architecture and 6C fast charging, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 11.8 minutes. Despite its smaller size, the Galaxy TT sedan is longer than a Toyota Camry, measuring 4,999 mm in length.
