Chelsea draw with Hull, Liverpool held by Fulham and Villa remain winless

In-form striker Joao Pedro equalised for Chelsea in their home draw against promoted Hull City. The reigning Premier League Player of the Month scored in the 66th minute, but Chelsea failed to secure a victory. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring for Chelsea in the seventh minute, but Hull went ahead with two goals from Mohamed Belloumi.

Chelsea had scored in the first, second and fourth minutes of their previous three league matches. Club-record signing Rogers, a £117m acquisition from Aston Villa, converted a left-footed shot past goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, Hull's first Premier League goal of the season. Joao Pedro then headed a chance wide, followed by another curling effort that goalkeeper Tzolakis saved.

A momentary lapse in concentration led to Hull's equaliser when Mohamed Belloumi volleyed Ryan Giles' cross into the net. Hull's momentum shifted further when Lewie Coyle forced a save from Chelsea's goalkeeper, Semi Ajayi headed against the woodwork, and Oli McBurnie deflected the ball into the path of Belloumi, who scored via deflections off Levi Colwill and Reece James.

Despite an excellent James free-kick shortly after the restart, Chelsea struggled to break down Hull's defence. In response, McBurnie's close-range effort was brilliantly saved by Chelsea's Emi Martinez. However, Joao Pedro smashed the equaliser in the 66th minute with a left-footed shot into the near post. Chelsea's Cole Palmer and James also threatened to add a winner, while Rogers had the best chance saved by Tzolakis inside the box.

Late substitutions by Chelsea, including Estevao Willian and Danny Welbeck, did not change the outcome. Hull stayed third in the table, while Chelsea remained fourth, having played a match more than half of the Premier League's teams.
