Chakan MIDC Infrastructure Works Gain Pace; Focus On Easing Traffic Congestion, Says Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi

Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi recently inspected infrastructure issues in Hinjawadi IT Park. He directed various government departments to take prompt action on traffic congestion, public transport, water supply, electricity and waste management. To tackle traffic jams, the number of PMPML buses in the area will be increased by around 20-30.

They are also planning additional feeder bus services connecting metro stations with offices and residential areas. Six major roads will be widened, and tarring of service roads will be completed within 10-15 days. Electricity poles and underground cables obstructing the work will be shifted. The tarring work will be initiated immediately.

Power supply issues are being addressed by expediting work on new power substations at Lavale and Mahalunge. Land availability will be sought to avoid delays. Water supply is being prioritized, and officials are instructed to make the required land available immediately. Waste management will be tackled with a concrete action plan within a month, and housing societies have been given seven days to set up effective waste collection systems.

The administration plans to improve bus stops, bus shelters and areas around metro stations. Residents from Hinjawadi, Maan and Marunje raised their concerns during the meeting, and Dudi directed officials to initiate immediate action. He emphasized that any solution must be scientific and planned, ensuring necessary facilities are available to residents and IT sector employees as soon as possible.
