CBI Secures Extradition Of Red Notice Subject Amritpal Singh From Moldova In Double Murder And Arms Cases

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has secured the extradition of a Red Notice subject, Amritpal Singh, from Moldova back to India on September 12, 2026. Singh is wanted for multiple serious criminal cases in Punjab, including double murder with firearms, offenses under the Arms Act, and NDPS Act violations. He also faces charges of forgery, cheating, and using forged documents, as well as violations of the Passport Act.

Following a request from Punjab Police, the CBI issued a Red Notice against Singh through INTERPOL channels. This led to Singh's geo-location and arrest by Moldovian authorities. An extradition request was then submitted to Moldova, which was granted following due legal process, resulting in Singh's extradition to India. A team from Punjab Police traveled to Moldova to facilitate Singh's return, arriving in Delhi on September 12, 2026.
