Carín León Returns to the Sphere With Pepe Aguilar and José Guadalupe Esparza as Guests

Carín León returned to the Sphere in Las Vegas on Friday night (Sept. 11) for the second weekend of his historic residency, after initially canceling a concert earlier that day due to "airplane issues." The Mexican music star, 37, took to the stage without addressing the cancellation, instead receiving an ecstatic welcome from the 20,000 fans in attendance. "¡Que viva México y que viva Hermosillo!" León exclaimed, removing his hat in gratitude to the crowd.

The night featured a visually stunning and culturally rich performance, paying tribute to León's hometown of Hermosillo, Sonora. Giant screens displayed images of the desert, a cactus, the sounds of coyotes, Hermosillo's Cathedral, Cerro de la Campana, and other iconic symbols of the region and Mexico. During the show titled "La Caverna Sagrada," photographs of loved ones who were no longer with him were displayed on the screens, accompanied by candles during a performance of his hit "Cuando la vida sea trago."

Two major figures in Mexican music joined León as special guests. Pepe Aguilar, whom León described as "one of my greatest inspirations in music," performed their emotional collaboration "Lamentablemente" and Aguilar's iconic hit "Por mujeres como tú," ending their duet with León expressing his love for his mentor. José Guadalupe Esparza, vocalist of the iconic group Bronco, was also present and delighted León as he reminisced about his childhood idol.

Together, they performed classics like "Si te vuelves a enamorar," "Oro," and "Libros tontos," leaving the audience ecstatic.

Throughout the concert, León interacted with his fans, proudly displaying a Mexican flag given to him by a fan, signing hats and albums, and recording videos for his followers. The seven-show residency series, produced by AEG, officially began on Sept. 4 but was interrupted by Thursday's (Sept. 10) cancellation, just hours after the cancellation was announced. The new series of shows is scheduled for September 16-18, 2027, during Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations.
