Burning Car Drama At Choithram Square; Driver Suffers 40% Burns In Indore

Indore, Madhya Pradesh witnessed a dramatic car fire incident on Saturday afternoon near Choithram Square. The unfortunate driver, Rupesh Yadav, sustained severe burns, approximately 40%, in the fiery mishap. Trapped inside his moving vehicle, Yadav was rescued by traffic police personnel who smashed the windows to pull him out. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm as Yadav journeyed from his residence towards his shop near Choithram Hospital via Rajendra Nagar.

Upon receiving a call about the blaze, Inspector Sumit Biloniya and his team promptly rushed to the scene. Recognizing the trapped driver, Assistant Sub Inspector JP Tiwari, Head Constable Kamal, and Constable Vijay attempted to open the doors but found them locked. They had no choice but to shatter the windows and successfully carried out the rescue within minutes.

Yadav's condition is critical, and immediately after the rescue, he was transported to the hospital in a loading rickshaw due to heavy traffic congestion caused by the rain.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated from a short circuit in the older-model vehicle’s wiring. Burnt cash, stored inside the car, was also recovered from the scene. While the exact cause of the incident is still under further investigation, the temporary impact on traffic at the busy square lasted roughly 10 to 15 minutes as the passage was cleared by the traffic personnel.
