Ghanaian gospel music icon Bernice Offei has passed away at the age of 63, according to a Facebook announcement on September 12, 2026. Collaborating with numerous hit songs like Life Is Short, Hold On, and Kaa She Gbeyei, Offei was well-respected in the gospel music industry. Fellow musician Nii Noi revealed her death on social media, expressing regret over her loss.

Kwesi Ernest, another prominent gospel music producer, also confirmed her demise, stating that a gospel music legend had passed away. Her sudden disappearance earlier in the week had raised concerns among her colleagues, fans, and the public. However, she was later found safe, though photos circulating online suggested that she was unwell.

Throughout her years in the music scene, Offei was recognized as one of Ghana's prominent gospel musicians, creating songs that fused Christian messages with themes of faith, perseverance, and life. Among her notable tracks are Hold On, Life Is Short, and Kaa She Gbeyei. Her music is still available on digital platforms, with Hold On and Life Is Short being particularly well-known.
