Bauchi Gov Commends CAC’s AI Initiative, Commission Partners Google for Multilingual Business Registry

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, lauded the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for its digital transformation and its upcoming integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a game-changing development for Nigeria's economic landscape and ease of doing business. Addressing the opening of the CAC Management Annual Retreat, held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre, the governor emphasized that the AI-driven system will provide multilingual support, enabling customers to interact with the registry in English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and Pidgin.

This cutting-edge technology is expected to complete business registration in minutes, automate error detection, and provide live compliance assistance for users navigating the registration process.

Governor Mohammed connected the CAC's history to Bauchi State, highlighting the contributions of the state's own sons who previously served as Registrars General. He also touted his administration's commitment to local economic reforms through the "My Bauchi Project," which prioritizes the removal of bureaucratic obstacles, eradication of multiple taxation, and simplification of fees for entrepreneurs.

Despite these advancements, the governor cautioned the commission to ensure that the technology remains accessible, secure, and inclusive for everyday business owners throughout the nation.

The three-day retreat welcomed over 400 CAC members. CAC Chairman, Senator Ibrahim Ida, expressed gratitude to the Bauchi State Government for its warm hospitality, emphasizing that the retreat is a vital opportunity to bolster institutional efficiency. The event received a goodwill message from the Emir of Bauchi, represented by Wazirin Bauchi, Alhaji Muhammad Uba Ahmad Kari. The message underscored the CAC's indispensable role in attracting investor confidence and formalizing businesses within Nigeria's economy.
