Ayilamo attack: Alia commends DSS over arrest of suspects linked to incident

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has lauded the Department of State Services (DSS) for arresting three suspects linked to the fatal attack on Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area. The attack occurred on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of several residents, including four police officers. In a statement issued by Alia's Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, he condemned the incident and emphasized the importance of the arrests in uncovering the details surrounding the attack.

Governor Alia urged the DSS to conduct a thorough investigation using the information obtained from the suspects. He described the attack as a "despicable attack on the peace-loving people of Ayilamo and a grave threat to the security and stability of Benue State" and expressed his condolences to the affected communities, families of the victims, and law enforcement officers who lost their lives while serving the country.

Alia called for a comprehensive investigation, urging security agencies to follow every lead and bring to justice all individuals connected to the incident. He also appealed to residents of Ayilamo and neighboring communities to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding while the investigation continues, assuring that the government will stand by affected communities to protect lives and property, uphold justice, and restore lasting peace across Benue State.
