At least 11 killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine as Kyiv strikes Russia's 'shadow fleet'

At least 11 people were killed and 96 injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine overnight between September 11 and 12. The Odesa region suffered the heaviest damage, but strikes also targeted Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson. Ukraine's Air Force reported Russia used 129 drones and various missiles, while Ukraine's defenses destroyed or disrupted 110 aerial targets.

One of the main targets was Odesa, where a multi-storey residential building was damaged. At least 35 people were injured, including a five-month-old baby and a 17-year-old. In Dnipro, Russia attacked an industrial facility, residential buildings, garages, and vehicles, killing one person and injuring 19. The Zaporizhzhia region saw two deaths and 11 injuries from strikes on 45 towns and villages.

The Donetsk region saw four killed and five wounded, with attacks concentrated in Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Yasnohirka. Kyiv saw one killed and three injured, with Russian drones striking five districts. In Sumy, a 68-year-old man was killed in a drone strike, while Novoslobidske saw a 64-year-old man wounded. Kharkiv suffered one death and one injury, with attacks in seven localities. Kherson saw 18 wounded, with residential areas and critical infrastructure targeted.

Ukraine's defense forces struck the Tolyatti oil plant in Russia's Samara region, sparking a fire. The plant produces synthetic rubber used in missile fuel production. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continued attacks on Russia's "shadow fleet," targeting 285 vessels in the Azov and Black Seas since the operation began ten weeks ago. Attacks have nearly halted traffic by Russia's shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov and Kerch Strait, according to Ukrainian commander Robert Browdi.
