Anwar looks forward to meeting India's Grand Mufti during Keralam visit

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia is eagerly anticipating his meeting with India's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad during his upcoming visit to Keralam. This will follow Anwar's participation in the 18th BRICS Leaders Summit. In response to a welcoming message from Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, Anwar expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you for your warm wishes, Sheikh. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow, Insya-Allah."

Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad had previously commended Anwar for including Jamia Markaz, a leading Islamic institution in India, on his itinerary. He emphasized that Anwar's dedication to discussing community development, education, and religious affairs signifies a common goal for intellectual and societal advancement. The Grand Mufti expressed hope that this historic visit and ensuing dialogue would pave the way for significant improvements in higher education, social empowerment, and cultural connections between Malaysia and India, particularly strengthening ties with Keralam.

Anwar, who also serves as the finance minister, landed in New Delhi on Friday to attend the BRICS summit led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After concluding his stay in Keralam, Anwar is set to leave for the Maldives on September 14.
