Another Orihuela Entertainment Bonanza as Tardeada Returns

Orihuela is set to host another major entertainment event with the return of its Tardeada indie music festival for a second edition. Mayor Pepe Vegara, along with councillors Anabel García, Irene Celdrán, Gonzalo Montoya, and Vicente Pina, as well as Pablo Pamies representing the organizing company, unveiled the festival. The event aims to establish Tardeada as one of Alicante province’s leading musical events and part of the city’s patron saint festivities honoring the Virgin of Monserrate.

Culture and Youth councillor Anabel García stated that such an event broadens Orihuela’s tourism offerings and strengthens the city’s reputation for unique experiences. Festivities councillor Irene Celdrán emphasized the goal of keeping Tardeada accessible and closely connected to the city’s September celebrations, generating activity across the city and supporting local businesses.

A unique aspect of the festival is La Ruta de la Banda, a competition for emerging bands and musical projects, with 12 finalists performing live in Orihuela on September 11-12. Admission to the festival is free, and the public will help select the winning act, who will earn a spot on the official Tardeada Orihuela lineup alongside established national and international performers.

The main Tardeada festival will take place at Los Huertos fairground on September 18-19, featuring headliners Crystal Fighters alongside local performers and winners of La Ruta de la Banda. Two stages and additional food and social areas will create a broader leisure experience, with free admission on Friday allowing the wider public to enjoy the festival and reinforcing its ties to the local community.
