Adams opens Serie A goal account

Nigeria striker Akor Adams scored his first Serie A goal for newly promoted Venezia in a match against Fiorentina on Friday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. The 26-year-old opened his scoring account with a well-taken finish in the 22nd minute of his third league appearance, putting Venezia ahead. However, his joy was short-lived as Fiorentina's Franco Mastantuono scored two goals before half-time.

Despite the setback, Adams' impressive start in Italy continued, as he also made an impact in the Coppa Italia a few weeks earlier. Adams, who joined Venezia this summer from Sevilla for a club-record fee of €17m, has already made a significant impact, scoring twice and providing an assist in a 3-2 victory over Modena earlier in the season.
