4 years after a part of Gurgaon’s Chintels Paradiso came crashing down, residents finally see a way back home

The Supreme Court has approved the reconstruction of the Chintels Paradiso housing project in Gurugram, ordering residents to vacate unsafe flats by January 1, 2027. With nearly 90 residents refusing to move, redevelopment work on the nine residential towers with 532 flats had been halted. Demolition of Towers D, E, F, G and H in Phase-I is completed, while Towers A, B, C and J in Phase-II remain stalled.

A structural audit found all structures unfit for habitation. The court directed occupants to enter into agreements under approved terms and hand over possession by the given deadline. No further extension will be granted for vacating the flats. CIPL will provide fixed rent for alternate accommodation and pay a one-time relocation charge of ₹40,000 to eligible homeowners in the affected towers.

CIPL is in talks with Sobha Ltd for the redevelopment, which is expected to be completed within 48 months from the vacating date, subject to statutory approvals.
