4,646 kes keganasan rumah tangga setakat Julai

Johor reported 4,646 instances of domestic violence from January to July this year, according to Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. This represents a significant increase compared to 518 cases in the same period of 2025. Lim emphasized that domestic violence encompasses physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial abuse, as well as control over movement and interpersonal relationships, including digital spaces.

She warned that domestic violence often begins with seemingly harmless behaviors such as excessive control, yelling, or insults. To combat this issue, Lim stated that the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development is providing PRISMAnita, a referral, intervention, information, and advocacy service for women. PRISMAnita, launched by the Chief Minister in March, connects women with government services and related agencies more efficiently and customer-friendly.

As of August, 117 clients had received services through PRISMAnita nationwide. Lim also mentioned that anyone in need of assistance or wishing to file a complaint can contact the 24-hour Casework Hotline at 15999, the PRISMAnita WhatsApp number at 019-2615999, or visit the nearest PRISMAnita office and police station.
