2 Airports to Get Rs. 10 Billion Modern Air Traffic Management Systems

Pakistan has initiated a Rs10 billion project to install advanced air traffic management systems at Karachi and Lahore airports, according to sources. The initiative will see the installation of cutting-edge air traffic management and voice communication systems at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. This upgrade will also involve the modernization of the air traffic control centers at both airports to meet contemporary standards.

The technical bid opening process for the installation has already been finalized. The subsequent phase will involve the evaluation of financial bids from companies that have cleared the technical evaluation. The project encompasses not only the installation of the air traffic management system but also the installation of a voice communication and control system accompanying the new air traffic management system at both airports.

This upgrade is a part of the broader efforts by the Pakistan Airports Authority to modernize the country's air traffic management infrastructure.
