‘Where is Dr Tavangar?’ Limpopo police issue urgent appeal after doctor disappears

Limpopo police have launched an urgent appeal to the public in search of 61-year-old Dr Rega Mohammed Tavangar, who has gone missing. The doctor, who works at Mokopane Hospital, was last seen by his partner on August 28 at around 6 pm, when he dropped her off at her rented room in Voortrekker Street, Mokopane. Police believe Tavangar was traveling in a white Landwind motor vehicle with the registration number KV3VM GP, dressed in grey jeans, black sandals, and a brown shirt.

Tavangar's partner reportedly received a payment into her bank account at around 6 am on August 29, prompting her to contact him regarding her wallet, which she believed was still in his vehicle. He allegedly informed her that he would send the wallet with their daughter, who is staying with him at Mokopane Hospital Residence. Despite this, there has been no further communication with Dr Tavangar, as his cellphones are reportedly switched off.

Mokopane Hospital sought information about his whereabouts on September 3 after he missed his shift. A missing-person case has been opened at Mahwelereng SAPS, and police investigations are ongoing to determine Tavangar's whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
