Washington football hosts high-upside 3-star 2028 TE for Apple Cup

The Washington Huskies football team recently showcased their interest in a highly promising tight end prospect, 3-star Mike Taylor, during their Apple Cup victory over Washington State. The game saw over 40 recruits in attendance, including Taylor, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 225 pounds. Ranked as the 418th overall prospect and 22nd tight end in the 2028 class, Taylor has garnered interest from numerous college programs across the nation.

In January 2025, Washington extended an offer to Taylor, following his meeting with coaches from schools like Arizona State, California, Florida, Oregon, UCLA, and USC. The Huskies' coaching staff, led by Jedd Fisch, appears to be particularly focused on Taylor as a versatile threat in the receiving game. Taylor's performance on film demonstrated his athletic prowess, excelling in both offensive and defensive aspects of the game.

Playing outside linebacker, he showcased impressive strength, agility, and the ability to create space as a pass catcher.

Former 247Sports analyst Greg Biggins commended Taylor's thick, strong frame and his skill in using his body to create separation from defenders. He highlighted Taylor's quickness as a route runner, his speed to get away from linebackers, and his willingness to take defenders down.
