Umno must end internal bickering, strengthen unity, says party delegate

KUALA LUMPUR: A Johor Umno delegate has called for the party to put an end to internal bickering and strengthen unity as it rebuilds its political strength. Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid, the deputy chief of Parit Sulong Umno, stated that grievances should be raised through proper party channels rather than behind the backs of leaders and members.

He emphasized that members unhappy with decisions should voice their concerns in meetings or through delegates. Fared warned against creating divisions within the party and urged members to respect decisions made through formal meetings. He highlighted the importance of every level of the party working towards a common direction and maintaining unity in thinking, leadership, and approach.

Fared also mentioned the Rumah Bangsa initiative, encouraging former members to return and serve alongside current members. He stressed that political and personal differences should not jeopardize the party's unity, emphasizing that Islam and democracy require members to respect and work together despite their differences. Fared reminded members that internal disputes could weaken Umno's ability to face future political challenges, and the party's various efforts would succeed only if members shared the same objective of strengthening Umno and the country.
