UEFA wants FIFA subsidiaries’ blocked from Infantino discovery fight in US

Fifa president Gianni Infantino has not responded to a request to appear before the United States House Judiciary Committee or provide documents sought by Democrat Jamie Raskin, the committee's ranking minority member. Raskin announced an investigation into Fifa's efforts to gain favor with US President Donald Trump, alleging that the organization sought to drop corruption cases and inflate World Cup ticket prices.

Infantino was given until 9 August to reply, but no response was received by Thursday. No criminal penalties apply to Infantino for ignoring the request. Meanwhile, Fifa faces mounting demands for answers on multiple fronts, including a rejected private investment proposal for Fifa Forward Enterprise and legal action from Uefa over the suspension of US forward Folarin Balogun.

Uefa has called for an independent review of the FFE initiative and is seeking document disclosure. Other continental confederations have criticized Infantino's management, and the Belgian football association has continued legal action against the suspension. Despite these pressures, Infantino remains committed to seeking re-election for another four-year term.
