T-Mobile will charge $5/month for Apple’s new iPhone Handoff feature

T-Mobile has announced that their customers will need to pay an additional $5 per month for Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature. This feature, unveiled earlier this year at the WWDC keynote, allows users to seamlessly switch between two iPhone devices using the same phone number. According to Kaiann Drance, Apple's VP of iPhone Product Marketing, during the company's "Surprise and Shine" event, iPhone Handoff will improve connectivity with smarter transitions between cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

However, the cost of this feature has only just been revealed. At least for T-Mobile subscribers, the feature will incur a monthly charge of $5. Apple's support page confirms that carrier fees may apply when enrolling in iPhone Handoff, suggesting customers should contact their carrier for further information. While Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile's parent company, does not charge separately for iPhone Handoff, the feature is included as part of their MultiSIM offering, which costs €6.95 per month.
