Signals Bureau trial: Atta Akyea denies abandoning Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Angela Boateng

Former NSB Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene's legal representative, Samuel Atta Akyea, has vehemently denied rumors of his withdrawal from the ongoing trial. In a statement released on September 10, 2026, Atta Akyea labeled the claims as "wretched and vile propaganda." He clarified that his attention had been drawn to baseless allegations on social media suggesting he had abandoned his client.

Atta Akyea stated that the prosecution's contention that a document submitted by the defense was fraudulent was addressed, and he affirmed that the document had been admitted into evidence without objection before Judge Francis Apangabuno Achibanga. The lawyer expressed his unwavering support for his client and declared that his legal team was gearing up for a "very solid and credible submission of no case."

Atta Akyea also criticized the manner in which the case was being conducted publicly, advocating for legal disputes to be resolved in a court setting rather than through social media. The case involves Adu-Boahene, Angela Adjei Boateng, and Advantage Solutions Ltd., who are all facing prosecution. Atta Akyea reaffirmed his confidence in the defense's impending "no case" submission, describing the allegations against his client as "sordid."
