Real-world Zelda Master Sword on the way from American toymaker, plays game music and sounds

Nintendo's legendary Master Sword may soon be available for purchase as a real-life toy. American toy manufacturer Hasbro has teamed up with Nintendo to create the Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword. This replica of the iconic weapon not only looks and feels like the original, but it also plays sound effects from the Zelda games.

By flipping a switch in the sword's hilt, players can enjoy tunes that accompany the discovery of important items throughout the series. Additionally, the Master Sword responds to motion, producing sounds when Link equips or unequips equipment, and makes slashing and clashing noises when swung. With five consecutive swings, the sword unlocks even more dramatic sound effects.

While the design is inspired by the most recent game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it is not an exact 1:1 replica and lacks the vibrating feature found in a similar version made by Japanese toymaker Tamashi Nations. At a price point of US$39.99, the Electronic Master Sword is a more affordable option compared to its Japanese counterpart, which cost 22,000 yen (approximately US$141).

Pre-orders for the toy are available starting September 9th at 10 AM Pacific Time or 1 PM Eastern Time on Hasbro's official website.
