President Ruto to begin Nyanza development tour on Sunday

NAIROBI, Kenya – September 11 – President William Ruto will embark on a development tour of Kenya's Nyanza region on Sunday, according to a regional commissioner. The visit aims to highlight the government's initiatives and projects underway in the area. Speaking to journalists in Kisumu, Onesmus Kyatha, the Nyanza Regional Commissioner, outlined that Ruto will examine ongoing projects, introduce new initiatives, and interact with local residents during the tour.

Kyatha announced that President Ruto will commence the visit by attending a church service at the Voice of Salvation and Healing Church before moving on to other engagements. He urged residents to attend the President's visit and offer their support, stating that it provides an opportunity for communities to communicate with Ruto and discuss issues impacting the region.

The president is expected to review the progress of various government projects, including affordable housing schemes, markets, roads, and public institution developments.

The commissioner highlighted infrastructure projects in Nyanza, such as a bridge in Bondo, as key focal points during the tour. Kyatha emphasized that the President intends to launch numerous projects, inspect progress, and assess the implementation of ongoing works. He called on residents to welcome Ruto, regardless of their political or regional affiliations, as he is the President of all Kenyans.

Residents, especially the youth, were urged to maintain peace and order throughout the President’s visit. Kyatha warned against any attempts to disrupt Ruto’s engagements, stating that security agencies would remain vigilant to ensure the tour proceeds without issues. The regional commissioner advised young people not to engage in any disruptive activities and to cooperate with security personnel.
