Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed optimism about the upcoming BRICS Summit, stating it would feature constructive dialogues on global concerns and promote global welfare. The summit, set to commence on Saturday, will host leaders from various countries to deliberate on strategic trade resilience, cross-border payment systems, energy security, and methods to resolve disputes arising from geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe and West Asia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to address the plenary session of the BRICS Business Forum on September 11. The summit is India's fourth Chairship in 2026, with the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," emphasizing development, sustainability, and innovation, as well as the aspirations of the Global South.
