Poor mobile signal for two years? Villagers tie telecom worker to tower

Residents of Hardauli village in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district became so fed up with poor mobile signal over the past two years that they reportedly detained a telecom worker at a tower. The unusual protest, captured on video, has since gone viral. The village had seen the installation of a mobile tower two years ago, but claims of ongoing connectivity issues persisted despite numerous complaints.

When a telecom technician arrived at the site on Thursday, some villagers reportedly detained and tied him to the tower structure, though the technician himself suggested the protest to draw attention to the problem to his company. Police arrived at the scene, freed the worker, and are currently investigating the incident. The villagers' complaints center around unreliable calls and internet access, issues that have been building for two years as mobile connectivity becomes increasingly vital for their daily lives.
