Police rescue 30-year-old man allegedly abducted at Assin Fosu

A 30-year-old man, Bismark Amoh, has been rescued after allegedly being kidnapped in Assin Fosu, Central Region. This occurred on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and the victim is currently receiving medical attention. The Central North Regional Police Command has intensified efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects.

Initially, the suspects demanded GH¢45,000 from Bismark's family, who were given 24 hours to pay. WhatsApp recordings revealed Bismark tied up and suffering physical abuse. The suspects allegedly used his phone to communicate with his family through the platform. The family raised GH¢19,500, paid to the suspects, but Bismark was not released. Instead, they demanded an additional GH¢30,500, totaling GH¢49,500.

The suspects then issued an eight-hour ultimatum, threatening to kill Bismark and destroy his phones if the additional ransom was not paid. The police launched a rescue operation, leading to Bismark's safe return to a medical facility. The Police Command is actively investigating to identify and apprehend those responsible.
