Pengampunan Najib: Umno seru semua bertenang

Umno has urged all parties to remain calm and refrain from any actions that could undermine the process of former Prime Minister Najib Razak's petition for forgiveness. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Deputy-General of Umno, stated that this call was made following the decision to delay Najib's petition for forgiveness to the upcoming General Council Meeting of the Institution of Mercy.

Umno understands the concerns and disappointment of party members and the public who have long awaited developments on this matter. However, Umno urges all parties to continue standing together, respecting the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the processes under the Federal Constitution related to forgiveness powers.

Asyraf emphasized that Umno deeply respects the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the processes authorized under the Federal Constitution concerning forgiveness powers. He mentioned that Umno took note of the request for Najib's petition to be delayed until the upcoming General Council Meeting, as stated in the government's official statement.

Asyraf expressed Umno's hope that the petition would be considered during the upcoming meeting without unnecessary delays, in line with the legal and constitutional processes. According to Asyraf, Umno's fight for justice for Najib is not aimed at challenging the institution or the legal process, but rather through a proper channel within the constitutional and legal framework.

Umno will continue to advocate for justice. We will persist in our efforts through the proper channels of the constitutional and legal institutions until all matters related to Najib receive appropriate consideration. The 63rd General Council Meeting of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya, held today, decided to delay Najib's petition for forgiveness.

In the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Division statement, the Prime Minister's Department informed that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, has graciously accepted the petition to be delayed until the upcoming meeting.
