Hajia Nura Quaye has been named the Ayawaso Central Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following a contentious election held at Alajo. The race, which took place last Sunday, did not yield a clear winner, leading to a recount that ultimately decided in her favor. The contest was marred by controversy, but the final decision was announced at the Kotobabi Police Station. Hajia Nura Quaye's closest rival was Esther Andoh.

Following her victory, Hajia Nura Quaye called for unity among NPP supporters and other stakeholders, emphasizing the critical task ahead of securing the 2028 elections and ensuring Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's victory in the presidential polls.
