The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has increased the delegate count eligible to vote in the elections for National Youth Organiser and National Women’s Organiser at its upcoming national executive elections, scheduled for October 3. During a National Executive Council meeting in Accra, Frederick Opare Ansah, Chairman of the NPP National Officers Elections Committee, announced that delegates under 40 years old will be able to vote for the National Youth Organiser, while every female delegate will vote for the National Women’s Organiser.

These changes, approved by the National Executive Committee and National Council, are expected to significantly boost the number of delegates required to cast their votes in the elections. The expanded electorate for the National Youth Organiser election now includes all delegates under 40, pushing it to over 2,000 eligible voters.

Mr. Opare Ansah explained that the National Elections Committee, established by the NEC and National Council, has completed the nomination, voting, and balloting processes for the elections, with all approved candidates assigned positions on the ballot paper. Additionally, the party has approved proxy voting for its National Officers’ Elections, allowing eligible members of the diaspora to participate without complications.

The National Communications Director position, however, will not face contestation as Dennis Miracles Aboagye was the sole candidate.
