Netflix puts Ransom Canyon out to pasture

Netflix has decided to put an end to Ransom Canyon, a romantic Western set in Texas, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The show, which follows the tumultuous relationship between rancher Staten Kirkland, played by Josh Duhamel, and the ambitious concert pianist and dance hall owner Quinn O’Grady, portrayed by Minka Kelly, concluded with its second and final season airing its entire run on July 23.

Despite the show’s intriguing plot twists, complex relationships, and captivating on-screen chemistry between the leads, Netflix has decided to cancel the series. This decision is particularly disappointing for fans who have enjoyed the show’s soap opera-like twists, complicated situationships, and tasteful kisses. As Quinn finally chose Staten over the New Yorker Oliver, played by Ben Robson, the cancellation leaves behind a show filled with unresolved storylines.

Unfortunately, the cancellation will also affect over 700 employees who contributed to the series' production in New Mexico. Netflix has not disclosed the reason behind the cancellation as of now.
