Myles Garrett acknowledges knee injury is significant after 0-tackle debut in Rams’ Australia loss

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett acknowledged his knee injury is more serious than he had previously disclosed following a lackluster debut in the team's season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia. The reigning AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year registered no tackles and had no impact on the game during the Rams' 27-7 loss.

Garrett, who had missed several practices due to knee issues, said, "This was the worst version of myself that I’ve put out there, and I’ve got to be better. I’ve got to find a way to recover and get back to the player I know I can be and I’ve shown that I’ve been before." Garrett refused to disclose which knee is injured or discuss the specifics of his condition.

The Rams' defense, bolstered by the addition of NFL MVP and AP Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, suffered a 20-point defeat, marking the largest loss for the franchise since November 2024.
