Mudavadi dismisses political talk over Kindiki’s DP position

Nairobi, Kenya September 11 – Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed political speculation surrounding the Deputy President's position, stating that the seat is not vacant. During a visit to Tharaka Nithi County headquarters, Mudavadi emphasized that Professor Kithure Kindiki has been instrumental in supporting the President in fulfilling his duties.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the appointment of Kindiki to the position was made by the President and that the government respects that decision, thus working together in a spirit of good governance. Mudavadi's comments come shortly after Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya organized a Western Kenya leaders' caucus to advocate for Kindiki as the Deputy President should President William Ruto win a second term following the 2027 elections.

Mudavadi urged Kenyans to disregard such political statements, asserting that the President is now focused on moving forward without concern for who supports him. He affirmed that there is no longer any room for suspicion or backstabbing within the administration.
