MP’s Khandwa Murder Mystery: Sarpanch’s Husband Found Dead Near River; ₹10,000 Reward Announced

In Borkheda village, under the jurisdiction of Piplod police station in Khandwa district, the suspected murder of Rum Singh, the husband of village sarpanch Gyani Bai, has raised concerns among the residents. The police have launched an investigation after receiving information about the discovery of Rum Singh's body near a river, where he sustained deep injuries on the neck and head.

A team comprising dog squads, fingerprint experts, and forensic specialists has been deployed to the scene to collect evidence and piece together the events leading to the man's death.

The police are interrogating local residents and examining the circumstances surrounding the case. This incident has also reignited interest in another unsolved death that occurred in the village around two years ago, though the authorities have not found any connection between the two incidents. A possible angle being explored is a dispute between the sarpanch group and another faction over village development works, although there is no confirmation linking this disagreement to the murder.

Khandwa superintendent of police Agam Jain has tasked the police with investigating all possible angles of the case. As a means to encourage potential witnesses, a reward of ₹10,000 has been offered for information leading to the suspect, with the identity of the informant to remain confidential.
